The Redland Bombers Colts were pushed right till the final siren but did enough to defeat Southport 7.12.54 to 7.7.49

The game fluctuated with teams kicking to the southern end of Fankhauser Reserve seeming to have an advantage albeit the wind was only moderate

After a good first quarter from the Bombers Southport came right back into the game at half time

The Bombers wasted a number of opportunities in the third quarter kicking 2.6 and then had to withstand a strong finish from the Sharks where they regularly peppered the goals.

A gutsy come from behind win against the Southport Sharks has seen the Redland Bombers move one step closer to securing a NEAFL finals berth.

The game was played in fine conditions at Fankhauser Reserve with a fast paced opening and finals like intensity.

Both teams traded goals in the opening term with hard running and uncontested ball a feature. Forwards were finding space with the ball transitioning from defence at regular intervals.

A well disciplined and courageous Redland Colts outfit recorded a strong win at Limestone Park on Sunday.

In another even team performance the Bombers answered every challenge thrown at them to eventually run out 99 point victors

There were patches of good running football combined with some skill errors and poor finishing but the Redland Bombers importantly added to the wins column with a 17.22.124 to 11.6.72 victory over the Eastlake Demons.

Returning from a taxing Darwin trip the Bombers regained Daniel Dzufer from injury and debuted Brisbane Lions Academy players Ben Keays 17 and Matt Uebergang 19.

Despite their lowly ladder position Eastlake had won their past two games and that was evident early with the visitors displaying good structures especially at their kick ins.
